June 7, 6:40AM. Carl Eric Ruizo Garces , 30 (or 32), tombstone (lapida) maker, Calamba Cemetery, Cebu City. The victim was shot dead, allegedly by a customer who was angry that the lapida he ordered wasn’t ready.
June 9. A security guard was shot and wounded in Jasmin Street, Brgy. Capitol Site, Cebu City. The suspect was a fellow security guard. The two had a quarrel.
June 11, 5PM. Welrenjyl Madrid, 29, construction worker, was shot dead by riding in tandem at So. Simboryo, Brgy. Tayud, Liloan. (Note: this entry could not be verified through a second source.)
June 12, 2021. The body of an unidentified male, estimated to be 30-40 years old, was found in the morning at Brgy. Banhigan, Dalaguete. The body bore bullet wounds. The victim has not been identified as of June 20, 2021.
June 12, 2021. Allan Gorres, 41, security guard, Brgy. Jugan, Consolacion. The victim was found dead, with gunshot wounds in his body, in the morning of June 12 at Brgy. Yati, Liloan, where he was on duty.
June 14. The body of Warlito Ocaba Laborte, Brgy. Suba, Cebu City, was found on June 15 thrown along the transcentral highway in Brgy. Gaas, Balamban. The victim had been shot dead.
June 16, 2021, 4AM. Richard Tuñacao and an unidentified male were shot inside the Chinese cemetery in Brgy. Carreta, Cebu City. The unidentified person, said to be a resident of Brgy Hipodromo and a native of Bohol, was killed on the spot. Tuñacao was the target of the suspect (a cousin) due to jealousy (the police initially declared the shooting incident for drug related since Tuñacao’s wife is in jail for a drug related offense). He was able to give the identity of the suspect to the police before he died a day after having been shot. The suspect was later arrested.
June 17, 9AM. Josephine Manilag Rollon, 38, manicurist, Brgy. Mambaling, Cebu City. The victim was shot dead by a bonnet wearing unidentified suspect inside her house. She had been in jail for a drug related offense, posted bail and later got arrested for illegal gambling. The victim was reportedly known in the community as an “asset” and the police guessed that this could be the reason why she was murdered.
June 17, 1:30PM. Ryan Canoy Magtagad, 36, canvasser, Brgy. Tutay, Pinamungajan. The victim was shot dead by motorcycle riding gunmen while traversing Manipis, Campo 7, Minglanilla direction of Toledo City, while his companion – riding a separate motorcycle – was wounded. Another person who was passing the area that time in a multi cab was also hit. Magtagad, father of a young child, was bringing various goods such as chairs and floor mats, that he was selling.
June 18, 2021. Gavino, 49, DepEd liaison officer and businessman, and Arlene Sanchez, 47, elementary school teacher, Brgy. Tubod, Minglanilla. The husband and wife were abducted June 16 and their lifeless bodies found on June 18 inside their vehicle that had been abandoned by the suspects at Brgy. Tanañas, San Fernando. The victims had been shot dead. The suspects are believed to have stolen millions of pesos and jewelries. One of the businesses of the couple was lending.
June 19, 2021. Hazel Haynar, 41, vendor, Brgy. Tipolo, Mandaue City. The victim was stabbed to death. The suspect, the victim’s live-in partner, was arrested by the police. The motive was allegedly jealousy.
